Metal archives

Here's an archive of this blog's posts related to metal music. I'm a huge fan of progressive metal partly because, as a drummer, I tend to pay more attention to the drums in songs. Progressive rock has quirky time signatures and usually pretty interesting drumming, so combining that with the energy and intensity of metal is awesome. Growling vocals is quite an acquired taste, though, so I've included the type of vocals in each song posted here.

  1. Here's a list of this blog's content relevant to steel songs. I'm a huge fan of modern steel partially because, as a percussionist, I usually pay more attention to the percussion in songs. Progressive stone has unique time signatures and usually fairly exciting drumming, so mixing that with the energy and concentration of steel is amazing. Barking words is quite an obtained flavor, though, so I've involved the type of words in each songs published here.
